GARRULOUS
By lady blue
An awful lot of words. Endless detailed descriptions about food; character's clothing; buildings; plants, trees, flowers; etc. etc. etc.

At page 122 I was still unsure what the story was or where it was leading. Was there a story at all?

Chapter 1 begins in November 1687.
Finally, some 300+ pages later the crux of the story is revealed in
Chapter 41 - December 1688 (Page 376).

The historical facts appear to be fairly accurate but the drama of it all is reduced to rubble by way of excruciating detail about every little thing.

I believe this author was confused about what genre of book she wanted to write. As it turns out this is merely a romance story plotted around a historical event which one would never guess from either the title or the book description. There is merit to the romance which came together at the end and would have been far more enjoyable had the author written it as such without the unnecessary burdensome details about every little thing in sight!

A good read!
By DM Leveson
I am enjoying this book as I did the last of Charlotte's I read. She makes the reader feel that she is living in the time with vivid descriptions of the difficulties faced by the people with the threat of having to change their religion due to the King's beliefs, the transport system on the Thames with the smells and dirt in the river, the medical reliance on the apothaceries and the developments in the family through the years.
