About the Author
Jerome E. Kaufmann received his Ed.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Virginia. Now a retired Professor of Mathematics from Western Illinois University, he has more than 30 years of teaching experience at the high school, two-year, and four-year college levels. He is the author of 45 college mathematics textbooks.

Karen L. Schwitters graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Mathematics. She earned an M.S. Ed. in Professional Secondary Education from Northern Illinois University. Schwitters is currently teaching at Seminole Community College in Sanford, Florida, where she is very active in multimedia instruction and is involved in planning distance learning courses with multimedia materials. She is an advocate for Enhanced WebAssign and uses it in her classroom. In 1998, she received the Innovative Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Technology Award.

About the Author
Chef Yamashita Masataka was trained in Tsuji Culinary Institute, a well-known and respected culinary institute in Osaka, Japan, then went on to work at various p�tisseries around Japan. Ten years later in 2001, chef Yamashita started his own p�tisserie in Nara, Japan, which quickly became one of the top p�tisseries in Nara.

Eight years later, yearning for new challenges and a change of scenery, chef Yamashita moved to Singapore where he took charge of the kitchen at P�tisserie Glac�, quickly turning it into a haven for delightful cakes and pastries. Chef Yamashita soon saw an opportunity to revive his p�tisserie from Japan. He has recently opened a bakery in Tanjong Pagar under his name, Chef Yamashita in June 2014.

So Far, So Good

Haven't really gotten too deep into it, but so far, the information and presentation have been great. I'm using it for a Graduate School course I'm taking on Adolescent Health.

Difficult to read, no way to use the information it contains

I bought this book for my Health for Secondary Teachers course. The book is very difficult to read, as it contains tons of scientific information that would only make sense to a biology major. Nothing in the book offered information that could help a teacher understand what an adolescent is going through or how to help them work through it. I did not feel this book would be useful to a teacher; it only offers background information on the health of adolescents.

The logical, real deal about the painter

Finally, a biography about Picasso written by a family member (his grandson by Marie-Therese Walter)that puts right all the ogre mythology. Yes, Picasso was not an ideal family man. But so much written about him in other biographies deem him almost inhuman. This bio is good because it puts all the facts out there. Good and bad. Widmaier refutes many of the "evil man myths" and gives you a straight view of what the man was really made of. I felt after reading this, a real grasp on this man/legend. A good job, that maybe his Grandfather would have appreciated, even though he was such a private person.

Ugh -- too much

Overkill with too much info -- not very well written. Instead of stating the facts, he points out the many stories/falsehoods -- which muddies the story. He goes through point-by-point to discount other books/authors/relatives. Book could be cut in half by just telling his point over view not rebutting every single rumor. Would have much rather have the book tell the facts as he researched them and not recount everyone else's version too.

When a town team is formed, he is cut because he can't skate. Very disappointed, his spirits are revived when weeks later the coach asks him to replace the team's injured goalie in the biggest game of the year. Danny steps in, plays well, and is invited to stay on the squad for the playoffs. While the large, lavishly colored paintings adequately sustain the mood of the story, the text leaves much to be desired. Told in the first person, it often reads in a staccato manner. Except for regional interest, ``ice'' any thoughts of purchasing this one.

A book that makes me look forward to story time.

This is a book that my 5 year old son and I both love and we revisit it over and over again. I usually let him choose the 2 books I'll read before bed and this book is chosen many times. The story is engaging for him and me, the illustrations have a surreal quality that make you feel like you've been there. There is even the lesson about working hard, teamwork, and not underestimating anyone. A great childs book that adults can enjoy also. The illustrations are dreamlike, and the story is one of determination and working to make your dreams come true that is sure to delight any kid (or Dad!).

Great Book!

This was a really good book. I liked the characters.

I really wish they lived in my neighbourhood. I would

join them at the outdoor rink near my house. I'm not

not sure I would be able to keep up with Marcel though, and

Danny seems pretty hard to score on, but I would try.

The pictures in the book are very nice. They make

you imagine what the players were going through.

This is an exciting book.

I can't wait until The Final Game is published.

No Fear Shakespeare is the best you can get

If you are in the market for ANY Shakespeare guides/translations/read-alongs, No Fear Shakespeare is the best you can get. Each page is formatted so that the original text is on the left, and the modern translation is on the right. No more flipping throughout the book and between pages, googling, or making illegible notes in the margins! I cannot recommend No Fear Shakespeare enough, especially as a future English teacher!

Highly recommended

I dared to attempt this play with my upper-intermediate EFL students, and it went down very well! I don't think it would have been possible without this particular version, as we mostly read together the modern version, cutting to the original text at various moments of the play. It was nice to have the students actually understand and laugh at appropriate moments instead of blankly continuing to read without comprehending. Having the original text to one side means they can go back at their leisure and read it with more understanding. I recommend this version for beginners of Shakespeare and for non-native speakers of English.

Better than Midsummer's, that's for sure!

I will admit that while I am not a huge fan of Shakespeare, mostly for the language, I did really enjoy this book. By far one of my favorite books by him, and also one that I felt was ACTUALLY humorous, compared to some of the other comedies. It was definitely sexist, but I think that it kind of expected based on the time it was written. I would suggest to anyone looking for an easier Shakespeare read or one to introduce them into his works.
